It's a very sad story which i hope will turn out well , but i can't see the Beluga whale making it's way back to where it should be at the moment .
I think there have been stories of whales being captured in the past , if they were in danger , and returned to a more appropriate place . This is not a large whale so i think it is being considered

It's an amazing sighting i have to say but the welfare of the whale is paramount. The last reported sighting was this evening at 18.40, still by barges on the River Thames east of Gravesend. Thanks for the link Grayling.

I've been checking regularly for updates and it's encouraging to know that he/she appears to be feeding normally.

What a great article and update , Dave I'm happy that the dolphin seems to be doing well but still sad it's way off course and wonder what the outcome will be . I'm glad the British Divers Marine Life Rescue are keeping an eye on it & hope shipping gives it a wide berth

I keep hoping for news that it has been sighted out in the English Channel, heading north. The MLR divers will ensure it's safety where possible but it can't live like this indefinitely.

It looks like Benny is in no hurry to go anywhere,I suppose while he seems healthy and feeding well just observing is the best option they have .
Thanks for posting the update Dave.

It's fantastic news that Benny appears to be thriving in the Thames.

There doesn't appear to be any issues as such so providing there is enough food source, he should be fine in his new home.
