It seems to keep Croydon chatting . Cars and then foxes playing with the roadkill would be my guess . You wonder why people have so many cats in the first place , even dogs in a city . All would be happier in the countryside

When I saw this on the news I thought here we go again ,something else they are trying to blame foxes for

I've been watching this story for a while, even had a leaflet through my door about it.
I'm inclined to think the most likely explanation is as Jen says, cars and then maybe foxes scavenging the remains.

I agree with the car and roadkill theory but I do believe there are some much darker aspects to this as well, which troubles me

My daughter lives in Surrey and is incensed by what has been said. Her comment was have you ever seen a fox use a scalpel. She also wonders if a fox is really that clever as to remove a leg from an animal and then 2 nights later deliver it back to the address where the cat was from. It is not only cats that have been killed foxes and rabbits have also been killed but the 'person' was dubbed the cat killer because that is the main species that has been killed.

As soon as I saw this on the news I knew there was more to this How on earth do they explain body parts of the animals turning up on the owners doorsteps days later!

I hadn't known they'd found a scalpel it does sound rather sinister . It's been going on for a long time now , and nobody has seen a culprit ...... no CCTV , no webcams . I hope those who loose cats from now on , will fix some cameras so as to prove their case .. and those with shops in the area will scan their cameras , i suppose they have already ?

It appears to me that if in doubt, blame foxes and if that fails, why not blame badgers instead. Lets face it, with some peoples ignorance our native wildlfe doesn't stand a chance!
