Yes, Pendulous Sedge - Carex pendula, it's quite distinctive. One that seems to be escaping into gardens, rather than escaping from them.

I don't think it's invasive Dave, it just seems to like damp gardens or pond edges.

Can anyone help with this please? We thought it was a Hollyhock that we bought from the garden centre but looking at pictures online it doesn't look anything like a Hollyhock The leaves are quite big the flowers It wasn't easy to get an overall photo of it but you can see it's quite tall and spindly and not very nice looking

Yes, I agree with Jan - a Mallow (Malvus) species of some kind. Julie, I think it looks a lot like a wild one - Common Mallow, although the leaves look on the large side
