Pam that's a great idea I've had to check all bowls this morning...rescued a cricket and earwig from the dog's paddling pool...I think it needs a little plank in it

More great ideas everyone.
Putting a stick or small piece of wood in would really help critters if they needed to crawl out and dry off.

The recent rain has been more than welcome and instantly there has been an increase in bird activity in our garden. The Blue Tits have returned along with the Goldfinch and Collared Doves.

I think all the wildlife has appreciated the rain, Dave.
There's a duck pond at the back of Aylesbury police station which had completely dried up. People had been putting old paddling pools and water containers out for the ducks but eventually they must have decided to fly down to the canal in search of a better water supply. I was surprised when I drove past yesterday that even with the little rain we've had, the pond was filling up again. I wonder how long before the ducks return?

A good chance they will return at some point Ann, especially if they have been frequenting the pond for some time.

Looks like it could be getting very warm again from tomorrow with up to 29c possible until Tuesday so we mght have to keep all our water bowls topped up again for a few days.

Did anyone recreate the muddle puddle one?

Two Hoverflies were taking water out of the pebble one we created so it really does work.

Hi Dave, I made a mini mud puddle as well as the old paint tray job. Haven`t really had chance to see if anything has used them though. Lot`d of buzzy things in the garden though!
