The usual help required identifying these, photographed In Coppetts Wood, North London No 1: tiny flowers with large leaves No 2: very tall, about 6/8 feet high: TIA Brian

Hi Brian - wonder if your other plant might be hemlock that has 'gone over'? The smooth stems have some blotches which is a characteristic of hemlock.

A friend sent me this one for ID but got me stumped, thought it might be a mallow, no flowers and bird sown I think.

They look similar to the mallow leaves we had in our garden John but i'm far from positive.

Just googled Latin name & there`s loads of common names for it. Mine wasn`t in water (or anywhere near it) but in the shade.
